Welcome! We’ve put together this workshop to help you understand why you are sick, tired, anxious, depressed, can’t lose weight, or just don’t feel like yourself and lay out a plan to help you heal, recover, and get back to enjoying your life.
As you’ll learn below, stress is a silent killer, impacting our health, and affecting every aspect of our lives. It’s easy to say “manage your stress” but what does that even mean?
Do you have to quit your job? Do you just need to sleep more and meditate? Is there a specific supplement or diet plan that can fix this?
While those are good questions and might be part of the solution, it’s more important to understand the role that cortisol is playing.
You probably have some big goals and dreams that you are chasing that are also keeping you busy. But being busy and driven means you also live a fast paced, high stress life, and in order to do that, your body has to constantly be pumping out CORTISOL.
High cortisol levels impact weight, immune function, mental health, sleep, and more.
Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands in response to stress. It plays a crucial role in the body’s response to stress by increasing blood sugar levels and suppressing the immune system.
While cortisol is essential for our survival, chronic or excessive cortisol production can have negative effects on our health. Some ways cortisol can harm your health include:
- Increased risk of cardiovascular disease: Excessive cortisol can lead to high blood pressure, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
- Weight gain: Cortisol stimulates the appetite and can lead to overeating, particularly of high-calorie foods, which can lead to weight gain.
- Impaired immune function: Cortisol suppresses the immune system, making us more susceptible to infections and diseases.
- Insomnia: High cortisol levels can interfere with sleep, leading to insomnia and other sleep disorders.
- Mental health issues: Cortisol can cause anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems.
- Digestive issues: Excessive cortisol can cause digestive issues such as stomach ulcers, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Now you can see why maintaining healthy cortisol levels is important in creating optimal physical and mental health.
This is why most diet and exercise plans don’t work. If you don’t address the cortisol levels, your body will continue to store fat.
Our coaching program is designed to lower cortisol through guided breathwork, meditation, and nurturing trauma release.
Cortisol Isn’t The Only Problem
The reason we say you have to go “Upstream” is because there is a reason you are so stressed out.
In fact, you are actually addicted to a specific type or “theme” of stress.
This stress addiction is your ego’s way of defending itself. It keeps you alive but it doesn’t always keep you healthy.
Look at the image below and notice which one of these resonates most strongly with you:
These numbers represent the Enneagram and we find that (if you can correctly identify your number) using the teachings of this personality archetype system is the easiest way to rewire your brain’s stress addiction and help you live more mindfully.
“Your personality is your personal reality.”-Dr Joe Dispenza
Most people aren’t aware that their personality type is keeping them addicted to certain thoughts and beliefs. These thoughts are running on repeat and they are actually what causes you to become sick, overweight, or anxious.
And that isn’t the only source of beliefs. Your parents, school system, peers, and society instilled my beliefs in you that are also causing you to stay stuck in the same thought-emotion pattern.
Not to worry though, we know how to change this!
Watch the workshop below and then join Be the Hero Academy to start understanding what program you are running and how it is impacting your health.
